Robiquetia merrillii (Ames) Ames 1922 is also known as Robiquetia cerina (Rchb. f.) Garay 1972, Malleola merrillii (Ames), and Saccolabium cerinum (Rchb. f. 1888). R. merrillii is a monocot in the Orchidaceae family and is a part of the subtribe Aeridinae. R. merrillii grows mainly in New Guinea and the Philippines and is an epiphytic species that grows on tree trunks at an altitude of 350 meters or above.
R. merrillii exhibits monopodial growth and a flowering pattern that resembles a cluster of grapes. The flowers bloom in succession from top to bottom and are a scant 3 mm wide but are very densely clustered. The flowers stay in bloom from 2-5 weeks and grow well in hanging baskets with moderate to bright sunlight.
