Originally named Aerides pallidum by Scottish botanist William Roxburgh, Micropera pallida was renamed eleven years later by british botanist Sir John Lindey. It is an epiphytic orchid species that is found in India, Myanmar, Thailand, Laos, Viet Nam, Cambodia and Indonesia. It requires high humidity in order to grow to its average length of 2-3 feet and high light situations in order to flower. It flowers from August to September with flowers reaching a size of about 1.2 cm.
